Things to do in Tucson – Beyond the ESIP Meeting

by Erin Robinson

We are very excited about the ESIP Meeting in Tucson next week! You indicated interest in the informal Friday afternoon activities, so I wanted to reach out with a few details and to get started with a bit of coordination. These groups will be community led, so if one of these sounds interesting please jump in and organize a group.  The meeting will end with lunch at 1pm on Friday. In my site visit, I identified a couple of places that would be fun afternoon trips:

I have put together a spreadsheet to get sign-ups for these options. For the Desert Museum or Pima Air & Space Museum, we will not have transportation provided by ESIP, so carpools will be essential if there is interest. For other options, remember ESIP will provide free Sunlink Streetcar passes.

We will also have the Tucson Visitor Bureau at Registration on Tuesday during the morning break and lunch and they have even more options. They put together a website for us here. This is my favorite site for local city guides. The NYTimes wrote two recent Tucson articles on being named a UNESCO City of Gastronomy and on getting outside and there is the 36 Hours in Tucson.  It is safe to say that I have fallen for Tucson and am looking forward to continuing to explore next week.
